Access Violation when Closing Dentimax

Dentimax throws multiple Access Violation messages when closing the application.  Usually you'll get about 20 or so error message boxes that you either have to:

  1. Close one by one OR
  2. Open Task Manager (CTRL-SHIFT-ESC)
    1. Select Dentimax from the running application list
    2. End the Dentimax application
Dentimax confirmed that this problem does not endanger data integrity and we haven't seen any.

Windows 7 64 bit

Issue has now been fixed.  Dentimax provided a new release about 2 weeks ago that finally takes care of this annoying problem.

Overview

Dentimax Practice Management software is an easy to use and effective program for managing all aspects of a Dental Practice.  We at Super Smiles Dental of Burlington have found it be a very good fit for our needs.  Like all software it does have areas requiring improvement.  This blog is our tool to track and manage issues, provide work arounds, and record recommendations for improvement.  We have no affiliation with Dentimax.

Entries in this blog DO NOT indicate that what is being described is in fact a bug.  The blog merely tracks observations and posits that a given observed behavior may be a code fault of some sort.  We identify behaviors that seem odd but are not bugs as well as behaviors that would be hard pressed to not be anything other than a bug such access violations.

Most importantly this blog also records recommendations for improving the software for the rapidly evolving technology environment that Medical Software in particular seems to being having great difficulty with keeping pace.

We at Super Smiles Dental of Burlington hope this information will be of help to anyone using the Dentimax software.
